Masyarakat di <strong>Babilonia,<\/strong> misalnya, membuat anyaman dari sejenis <strong>alang-alang<\/strong> untuk pondasi pembangunan <em>ziggurat<\/em> (kuil).<\/p>\n<p>Adapun di <strong>Cina<\/strong> kuno, pada beberapa titik <strong>Tembok Cina<\/strong>, ditemukan dahan-dahan pohon, yang digunakan untuk memperkuat pondasi. Hal ini disebabkan material sintetis dapat divariasikan sedemikian rupa untuk memenuhi berbagai kebutuhan proyek yang berbeda-beda. Dan juga material tersebut dapat diproduksi dalam jumlah yang sangat banyak, guna memenuhi kebutuhan pasar yang semakin meningkat.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitraventuresgroup.com\/mhl\/geotextile\/\">Geotextile<\/a><\/em> sintetis pertama kali dipakai pada suatu proyek di Belanda pada tahun 1953, untuk mencegah masuknya air dari laut yang mengakibatkan banjir. Dari situlah, penggunaan material <em>geotextile<\/em> terus meningkat sampai saat ini. Tercatat, pada tahun 1970, konsumsi <em>geotextile<\/em> hanya sebanyak 10 juta meter persegi.
